I just watched what I'm guessing was the Director's Cut (or something) of Legend - a movie I've always been rather fond of. I'd never seen this version before, however.
There were some aspects I liked slightly better. Honeythorn Gump, for example, was much more of a fairy (in the traditional sense) than in the version I saw, and there were things that were better explained. Things that went by too quick and didn't necessarily make sense, in the 'original'.
On the other hand, in some ways it was far more...self-indulgent, this version was. A bit more sloppy sentimentality that I disliked. And the music didn't fit nearly as well. The Tangerine Dream soundtrack was much better. |
