This is a very interesting article on the generation gap of social networking online.
As someone over the age of 30, who was never particularly tech-savvy to begin with, I have a certain amount of sympathy with the over 30 crowd in the article. On the other hand, as someone who's generally an exhibitionist, I also can relate to the 16-17 year old kids who put it all out there.
I, however, don't. Nor do I want to. I do google myself on occasion, but to check that I am *not* googable under my everyday name. Why? Because the people who'll be most tlikely to come looking for me will be the over 30 crowd. And even more likely it will be the creepy over 30 crowd. Because that seems to be the kind of people I attract, and I'm not going to make it any easier for them.
